This assemblage of working drawings, tea-washes, gouaches and sculptural elements evokes the back-story of an artwork; a map of artistic meanderings plotting the many unpursued paths, abandoned pieces and dead ends. Kallat first makes abstract line drawings of geometrical shapes and then brings them outside his studio to set fire to the lines after pouring an inflammable fluid on them, one line at a time. Kallat draws source material from the Golden Record, a gold-plated copper phonographic disc assembled by NASA under the direction of American astrophyscist Carl Sagan.
